Product Description

THE INSPIRING LOVE STORY THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE One hundred years ago, an "unsinkable" luxury liner sank on its maiden voyage. More than 1,500 men, women, and children tragically lost their lives after the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg on the night of April 12, 1912. Shockingly, many who perished had refused to board the lifeboats at first, believing the ship as truly indestructible and would not sink! From that dark disaster shines an inspirational love story-the true story of one man's great love for his Saviour and for humankind. This is the story of John Harper, the Titanic's last hero, who set his only child in a lifeboat before setting his sights on the salvation of the lost souls around him. Re-live John Harper's last hours as the ship took on water and passengers swarmed the decks. "Let the women, children, and the unsaved into the lifeboats!" was Harper's cry. Discover, through the testimonies of those who knew him, what inspired this man to go down with the ship and flounder in icy waters under a starry sky as he searched for doomed souls who needed his message of love and salvation. The Titanic's Last Hero presents a hero whose courageous story you will never forget.

In a world where the expression "hero" is used too often and not as it should, the subject treated is a true hero.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring 30 Oct 2010
By Linda Demaree - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The inspiring story of John Harper, a Baptist minister who was on the Titanic when she sank. He spent his final hours winning souls to Christ. As the ship was sinking he gave his life vest to another man. As he floated in the freezing water his voice could be heard asking those in the water about him "Have you been saved?" If they said no, he could be heard to say repeatedly, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and ye shall be saved!" Those were his last words as he sank out of sight into the icy water. Here was a man who was truly on fire for the Lord and whose entire life was spent in intercessory prayer for sinners in need of salvation, for preaching the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and for winning souls to Christ. He loved the Lord so much that he often neglected his own health to stay awake all night in prayer, to make himself available to any and all who called upon him, and whose soul was very often in agony over lost souls. Truly an inspiring man and in reading this book you will find yourself assessing your own walk with the Lord. Do not miss this one.
