Review

‘Clancy’s got serious company.’
New York Daily News

‘When a former pilot with years of experience turns his hand to writing thrillers you can take their authenticity for granted. His writing is exceptional and the dialogue, plots and characters are first-class… far too good to be missed.’
Sunday Mirror

‘The best military adventure writer in the country.’
Clive Cussler

‘Dale Brown has the techno-thriller genre down cold… Brown finely etches all the details [and] the plot’s tightly bolted together.’
USA Today

a pleasant change 25 Aug 2005
Format:Paperback
I had read the other reviews here but got the book anyway as i have read all Dale Browns' other books.
There is no flying in this book but I thought this was quite a good change as it shows that the author can write about other scenarios. Using familiar characters also made sure that it was not too big a departure as to be uncomfortable. This book also included a little more personal stories of the characters which is unusual for Brown. The man behind the genius of Jon Masters is also revealed. One of his best yet!

RUBBISH 20 Nov 2008
Format:Paperback
This book is a load of rubbish. If you want to know what the plot is all about and if it was successful read the first 20 pages and the last 20 pages and ignore the rest. Trust me, you will not want to read them.

A great disappointment from a usually moderate to good author.

Format:Paperback
Brown had a winning formula in his previous novels with the characters and the machinery interacting well. This novel has strayed too far from this proven combination and instead comes across as unbelievable and hastily written. All in all, one to avoid !

Oh Mr Brown, what were you thinking!
I'd like to think that I'm a big Dale Brown fan, but this was a real disappointment. This novel seemed to lack a spark, and some of the plot looks a bit like Tom Clancy's... Read more

Strange
Dale Brown's books are generally a bit patchy. He started off really well with "Flight of the Old Dog", and went generally downhill. Read more

Not that great
The New York Daily News Claims "Clancy's got serious company". If you have ever read a Tom Clancy book, you'll know that Dale Brown is no match for him whatsoever. Read more

Fairly good, but something of a departure...
This isn't actually a bad book. It has a lot of the characters we've gotten to know throughout the previous book, and puts them in a different situation, away from the high-tech... Read more

Good, but not as good as the others.
This is a good read but lacks the flare of the others because theres no stealth bombers or other exciting planes. Read more

For superman fans only
Mr Brown obviously had to be somewhere judging by the speed in which he finished this book. Basically the plot was a very good idea but the characters are predictable and... Read more
