3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading! 14 May 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book with the hope of finding out my actual IQ, however, despite the fact that this is supposed to be an IQ book, it is not! none of the tests are standardised and as such, at the end of each, you merely get a rating like 'Good' or 'exceptional' which is clearly not an IQ score!

1.0 out of 5 stars Hoist the midsail, NOT! 1 Aug 2005
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is lame, the puzzles seem to have a 1950's sailing theme, not general knowledge for todays generation. The maths puzzles can have multiple answers ( but of course only their answer is accepted!) , a very hard book that would suit a retired gentleman, perhaps their target audience???

2.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate Book Avoid First Edition 24 Jan 2008
Format:Paperback
All the authors had to do was to create a bunch of questions with single answers and other random answers... failed on that count then, many questions have multiple answers which says more about the authors intelligence than yours. I only did the digramatic and basic mathematic questions as the word ones were impossible (for me at least). The multiple answer waste your time invalidating any time based test. Good level of difficulty, but the quality is poor, they obviously didn't get many people to test it. This was a first edition that I got from the library maybe later editions are fixed.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book won't allow you to deterine you IQ 25 July 2007
By J. Hutchins - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book contains 10, 90-minute IQ tests, each containing 40 questions, but you won't be able to determine your IQ. The author states in the introduction, "The tests that follow have been newly compiled for this book and are not, therefore, standardised, so an actual IQ assessment cannot be given." Then what is the purpose of the book? Based on the number of questions answered correctly, you can determine if you are Exceptional (36-40 correct), Excellent (31-35 correct), Very good (25-30 correct), Good (19-24 correct) or Average (14-18 correct). If you are looking to determine your IQ, you will have to find a different book.
