About the Artist
A British folk/jazz `supergroup' formed in 'Swinging '60s' Londo, Pentangle were simultaneously stars of the `underground' and darlings of the mainstream, gracing the Albert Hall one month and Carnegie Hall the next. Spanning 1967-73 they recorded six classic albums and toured and broadcasted extensively. This 40th Anniversary box set, lavishly illustrated and annotated, features the best of their album tracks, singles and B-sides - newly remastered, achieving the best sound to date - alongside no less than 20 previously unreleased tracks. Making their debut here are: a track from their very first recording session (1967); live concert and TV performances; studio outtakes from The Pentangle (1968) and Reflection (1971); BBC radio session tracks newly in stereo; and rare film soundtrack work.
