Yes. It may be a cover, but it's still their best single ever. And IMO, it's their best track ever.
I love Atomic Kitten - they're my fave girl band, and one of my fave overall bands. I own both their albums and loads of their singles. They've done quite well here in New Zealand, had loads of top 20 hits, and a few number ones. This song here "Tide Is High", was number one for eight weeks, a record. No song by a British band has been number one for that long here. So that what it makes it good - this was also a UK No.1, for four weeks. Here is my rundown of the tracks:

1. The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)
The main song of the single and a corker one at that! This is a cracker song, that is a classic among Kitten fans now. Everyone knows this song - you mention "Tide Is High" and people will either say "Oh, the Blondie song" or "Oh, the Atomic Kitten song". This is huge everywhere, it was the song that got them recognised in the US. It's so catchy, with the usual Kitten sparkle that makes all their singles a success. All 3 Atomic Kitten girls sound great on this track - Liz sings first, then Jenny, and then Tash. I love the dance routine and the chorus. Simply brilliant. 5/5
2. Album Medley - from "Feels So Good"
Now, this is an interesting one. On the tracklisting of my CD - it says the medley songs are: "It's OK!", "Love Won't Wait", "So Hot", "The Way That You Are", "Last Goodbye" and "Love Doesn't Have To Hurt", but the real song has the first 6 songs off the second album (apart from "Tide Is High") which are: "It's OK!", "Love Won't Wait", "Feels So Good", "Walking On The Water" and "The Moment You Leave Me". Go figure. If you have the CD, it'll be either of those. I think it depends on the country. But newayz, it's a good blend of songs whatever you have, from the "Feels So Good" album. 5/5
3. Dancing In The Street
A great party song! The Kittens sung this at Party In The Palace, in July 2002, and it went down a storm, so they added it as an extra song. It's so catchy, happy, upbeat and fun! A great extra to the single. 5/5
4. The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling) (Video)
I love this video - it's my fave AK video. It's so cute, and simple. The beginning is the girls walking with a rainbow behind them, then they do the routine with a loads of dancers behind him, then they take their individual parts and sing them. Very cool, and it also includes the dance routine so you can dance along! 5/5

Overall, a great value single with a good mix of songs. Buy it if you like pop music, Atomic Kitten or just damn good music!

The Kittens' best single yet! 14 Mar 2003
By Weather Warden <3 - Published on Amazon.com

Most people will moan and groan when they hear that Atomic Kitten have released yet another cover song as a single. "Eternal Flame" was the first, but it hit number one, so what you complaining about?? Eh??
"Tide Is High" is the second cover, and also the second single off the Kittens' #1 album "Feels So Good". It's also in my personal opinion their best single yet. It also hit number one.
The song itself is happy, upbeat and has a brilliant dance routine that is so easy to learn. Liz sounds great on the first verse, Jenny sounds brill on the second verse (she is my personal favourite member of the group) and Natasha sounds good too.
This single is great. You get the radio edit of "Tide Is High" (which is practically the same as on the album), an album medley (this varies in countries, some countries you get the first six songs on the album, others is a mix), a track titled "Dancing In The Street" (seen performed live at Party At The Palace, the Queen's Jubilee concert in 2002) and the enchanced video. The video is so damn cute, it's one of my favourite videos ever! You get also a guide to the dance steps on the CD. It's worth it to learn them, cuz you will be dancing before you know it!
A definite purchase if you liked the original version of "Tide Is High", or if you like pop music... or if you like Atomic Kitten! This song kept the girls at number one in England for four weeks and number one here in New Zealand for eight weeks! It must be good!
