Synopsis

The author draws on his studies of cultures around the world to demonstrate how dominance of the ear as the primary sense organ for gathering and processing information is directly linked to compassion and peacefulness.

Broadening perceptions via consious listening. 2 Nov 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is not a "How-to" book, but an incisive examination of the human aural capacity. The tenet of this work is that the human sense of hearing and thoughtful human interpretation serve to not only make sound meaningful but also an effective multi-dimensional tool of time and space. Tim Nevell has done a superb job of translation.

I read this book back in 1994 and still remember it!

one of my favorite books 16 Dec 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is a stunning collection of writing - well researched, and highly thought provoking too. If you're a fan of music, or the study of sound in general - and how that relates to literally everything else in life - read this book. It's an over-abundance of knowledge.

I first read this many years ago when it first came out. I was glad to be able to find another after I gave yet another copy to a friend. This is a very intriguing book.
