I bought this book for my man who recently kayaked from Cricklade to Tower Bridge as a fundraising event for the RNLI. I travelled by road to and from each start and finish point, so I am became familiar with a lot of the places mentioned. The book is beautifully photographed and put together, with just enough written detail for each location, but I am COMPLETELY confused as to why it finished at Gravesend. All the research we undertook suggests that the official end of the Thames is Southend, so WHY does it end at Gravesend??? Only a minor gripe, but annoying. All the information seems to be factually correct, if not chronologically, and I would not deter a purchase on those grounds alone.

Apart from the corner of the book cover being slightly worn, (a brand new book), the book itself has some lovely images, tracing the River Thames' journey from source to sea. I bought it as a present and the recipient was very happy with it.
