Book Description

Lost plans for a terrifying weapon designed by Nikola Tesla fall into the hands of a centuries-old conspiracy bent on world domination. Powerful men will stop at nothing to use the weapon to achieve their goal, even at the risk of nuclear war.

Director Elizabeth Harker runs the Project, the secret hand of the US President. Nick Carter heads up the Project team in the field. Selena Connor is his teammate and lover. Together they pursue a twisted trail of clues that tests their relationship to the breaking point.

From the cobbled streets of Prague to the jungles of Mexico, from the ancient countryside of Tuscany to the barren plains of Central Russia, the story moves with relentless pace toward a final, explosive confrontation that will determine the future of humanity.

    More About the Author

I'm a former Marine and professional musician. I like riding old, fast motorcycles (I've restored many British bikes--my favorite is the Norton Commando, though the Atlas handles better), sipping Barbados rum, and playing a guitar, usually not at the same time. I write Action/Adventure Thrillers featuring the PROJECT, an elite Presidential counter-terrorism unit.I live in the Sierra foothills of Northern California.

My ancestors were from Wales, England and Ireland. I lived for a time in Scotland, some years back. I have a deep appreciation of the British Isles and the UK's history, music and culture. It's great to be able to reach across the Atlantic with the miracle of the internet.

There are currently eight books in my thriller series about the Project. A ninth book is coming early in 2015.

I love hearing from readers. You can contact me through the contact page on my website or email me directly at I promise to respond.

The Tesla Secret: The Project: Book Five: 5

There are some books that you just can't put down and this is one of them. The story takes off at a fast pace and the momentum just keeps mounting. The central characters are well drawn, easy to empathize with and they have good, believable dialogue.
I enjoyed the descriptive passages which place you in the story without slowing it down in anyway. There is literally never a dull moment, I was kept wondering what was going to happen next as I was caught up in the twists and turns of a masterly crafted plot. I wish I'd read the others from the beginning of the series. Although, this works extremely well as a standalone book. I don't want to spoilt it for the reader by giving away too much of the plot, but it has obviously been very well researched and carefully thought out. I shall definitely be reading more of this author's books. This one is a five star bargain!

I have progressed through the Project series to book 5. I'm not sure whether or not that is the last one and frankly I don't really care. The recipe worked fine for the first couple of books, but as the series went further, I became irritated with the repetitive angst and soul searching of the protagonists, the inevitable personal threats and the same old description of the boss woman who favours black and white clothes and clicking her fancy pen.

Having written this I'm wondering how I even got as far as book 5. Easy reading doesn't have to be this mundane.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor. 2 July 2014

I'm sorry, I got about 25% through this book & just gave up. Totally unbelievable characters, a plot as thin as rice paper & no real direction to the story. Very poor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story 20 Jan. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another great story from The Project series. The action starts on page one and does not stop until the end taking numerous tests and turns along the way. The action moves from the US and on through Italy Portugal, Mexico and Russia, and all to discover the secrets of Nicolas Telsa. I pulled not put his down and i'm already impatiently waiting the next.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best! 19 Jan. 2013

I first read 'The Lance', the second novel in the series but then caught up with the others. All five books are the best I haver ever read. The will grip you, enthral you, amuse you...and never let you go until the last word. I have my nose buried in my Kindle all the time so I'm picky about what I read. I absolutely love 'The Project' series.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 8 Jan. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A very good read, plenty of adventure and suspense interweaved with personal lives of the two main characters. It makes a refreshing change that the heroes also have human qualities. They make mistakes, they have hopes and fears and let their personal lives get in the way! But they all get the job done. The book moves at an excellent pace. Alex Lukeman is an author I look for now, the Project series is definitely worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read 16 May 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really enjoyed all the "Project" books so far and hope there is going to be a 6th. Would recommend them but suggest starting with book 1 as the characters situation does follow on even with a different adventure every time

This was the first I had read by this author and will be looking to play catch up now.

I enjoyed this, plenty of action, twists and turns, enough to keep me turning the pages.

    Will be back for more!
