...this has generally been described as stoner metal by the other reviewers and maybe it is...but in contrast to bands like Bongzilla I can see a significant difference...

...the guitars are incredibly low...chords are played with large amounts of feedback generated to echoe in the ears the sound of a tremored disturbance...once tracks like Stockholme Blues begin to be put into the drums appear...the echoed low chords are accompanied by another distorted guitar now abandoning its sonar like ostinato and now screeching for the attention it wishes to obtain...the music suddenly hits you over and over again with a very slow barrage of notes...this isn't speed metal where they constantly jab you all over with a small needle...this is a butcher slowly raising his arm and pushing down hordes of brute force with a meat cleaver...

...the vocals are echoed and disfigured...not that it's difficult to understand what they are saying but a part of my brain doesn't wish to is simply an instrument hitting notes...and that's all I can think of it as...however...for most of the journey the voice is abandoned...and once you have reached the Synapse (three part track) there is a chance you may have even forgotten that this creature even had a it just menacingly coo's and purr's at you...showing no direct signs of personification... this if you like stoner metal...or post's dark and solos to be exact...and everything contributes evenly and balanced to the bare landscape of their minds...

P.S Like everyone else has said they should not be mistakened with the annoying British pop group 5ive...who obviously have no idea how a patent works...

Great swathes of pschedelic noise. Most of this is just two guys - a drummer and a guitarist, but they make a BIG sound. They've added a vocalist for the first two tracks (there are no vocals on the first album) and a bassist joins occasionally. Live they are one of the most awe inspiring bands I have ever heard, on CD the make a fair go of repeating that performance. This is not for lovers of the pop band that share their name, nor for those who like short catchy tunes. If you like Isis, Sunn 0))) or Boris you will be in for a treat.
