Product Description

From Dan Dawkins, the author of REGRET, comes a chilling collection of short stories sure to send shivers up your spine and make you double check the locks on your doors and windows. THE TEACHERS' LOUNGE includes 5 short stories plus the ORIGINAL JACKSON HUGH NOVELETTE titled, JACKSON TAKES A TRIP.

This Kindle Edition includes an interactive Table of Contents to help you easily navigate stories

INCLUDES:

FREAKSHOW FRANKIE'S FUN FAIR

Somewhere along the Virginia / North Carolina state line, nestled in an open field that is impossible to find if you try, sits a fair ground where the employees are far from your typical carnies. When the McPherson family decides to stop in and ask for directions, they never imagine they might not make it out alive.

FAMILY MAN:

Adam Monroe arrives at home after a tiring day at work, only to find that his garage door opener doesn't seem to be working. Then neither does his key. When his wife finally answers the front door she greets Adam with his worst nightmare: not knowing who he is. Chased off his own lawn by an imposter who has apparently taken Adam's place in his own life, Adam isn't quite sure where to turn or what to do.

SNOW:

Jordan Garbar thought he was going to have a nice evening alone to enjoy a basketball game on TV. When the snowballs start to spatter against his house's windows, he first credits the neighborhood kids being typical pranksters. But it doesn't take long for Jordan to realize that there's something much more sinister lurking in the snow than mischievous children.

BASEBALL AND PEACE SIGNS:

In this touching story, Bill (Billy to most of his friends) talks about baseball, childhood friends, and his first crush that turned into a love that would haunt him for the rest of his life.

A MOTHER'S LOVE:

When Marsha Renolds leaves her cheating husband and takes her seven year-old son, Sam, to a new town to live, she is at first thrilled with the incredible deal she gets on a lovely little house in the woods. Sam, however, begins to frequently see a visiting house-guest, and he's not entirely sure of its intentions.

JACKSON TAKES A TRIP:

Readers of Dan Dawkins' novel REGRET know about Jackson Hugh all to well, and the evil he's capable of. In this ORIGNIAL Jackson Hugh story, Dan Dawkins introduces readers to Jackson for the first time, and the secrets that he keeps beneath his suave exterior.

Jackson knows he can no longer kill in his own city. He's gotten too lucky as it is, no sense continuing to pee in the same pool. Which is why he looks forward to his business trips oh so much. His rules are very simple, the simplest being: Arrive in town, kill girl, leave town the next day, no questions asked. It's worked marvelously so far. But when Mother Nature surprises Jackson with a freak blizzard, stranding him in the town of his newest victim, suddenly all the rules go out the window.

ALSO INCLUDES THE FIRST 4 CHAPTERS OF DAN DAWKINS' THRILLER, REGRET - AVAILABLE NOW IN THE KINDLE STORE.

A Good Short Story Read 30 Aug 2011
By Ms. JP - Published on Amazon.com

Oh My God! I like to change a bit from novels and read short stories from time to time. Well I just started to read this one and I want say that the first story in this book was just the scariest story I have read in a long time. This story would make Stephen King proud. For anyone who has a weak stomach don't read this one...

I decided to give this a try after enjoying another of the authors books "Regret." These short stories were well written, easy to read, and truly sinister!

Good read! 5 Jan 2012

For me, the scariest stories are the ones that 'could' happen. These stories are just that. They could happen (for the most part). The author is good at suspending belief when needed and paints a great setting. He can conjure up good characters that are believable and yes, scary! Love his work and this one didn't disappoint.
