I love Victorian language, with its flowery preciseness, except when it comes to matters of any delicacy whatsoever, and then I love its flowery circumlocution. So I truly enjoyed "Miss Munroe," Renard's foray into Victoriana. James Walker, the renowned disciplinary expert called upon to sort out Miss Munroe, has his hands full with the girl from the start, and a nobler effort to tame her baser inclinations one cannot imagine. The story is told by his friend Jones, and reminds one of the Holmes-Watson dynamic, with good reason I am sure. In any event, the tale made me smile quite often, and I highly recommend it if you are a spanking fiction fan in need of a smile.

If you are one of those people who are still innocent at heart and love a good spanking story, then this is a story you should read. I found it quite refreshing to read a story that made me think I was a young woman again who was reading something I shouldn't be. Sometimes you do not have to be smacked over the head with profanities, rudeness and lewdness to be aroused. It is a simple story, but something that subtly arouses one. Less is more. Most females know what I am talking about when I say that.

It takes a special kind of author to convey this 'moreness' in such a way. Loki Renard is one of those authors.

From the first sentence I knew that I had made a mistake in purchasing this book. I love to read BDSM erotica and thought this story was something of that nature. The story is nothing of the sort and told from the point of view of the "hero's" friend. There is no romance, no sex, no kissing. I am still trying to understand why this book was written and how it ended up in the search results of BDSM erotica. If you are looking for a book about a man who disciplines with spanking for a living and told from the very boring point of view of his good friend this book is for you. I for one have wasted not only my time and money but the brain activity (no matter how little) it took to finish this book.
