The film is wonderful, it sounds fantastic with DTS HD Master Audio, but the image is disappointing. I think they simply ported the DVD transfer on to Blu-ray, rather than remastering it. I recommend renting the film first to make sure you are happy with purchasing it.

One of my favourite films. Unfortunately the picture quality on this Blu-ray is only marginally better than the DVD version.

I thought previous reviewers were being too fussy here with their complaints about there being only a marginal improvement in image quality over the DVD. I have to agree with them, after doing a side by side testing of both, the blu ray is not much better. This film needs remastering - they did it for Gladiator, so why not this great film?

Excellent film- cinematography very impressive - Italy and the lives of the protagonists really brought to life. Would highly recommend this DVD.

Not the best blu ray
Already own this on DVD and couldn't wait for the blu ray to be released only to find the picture quality has not improved.
