5.0 out of 5 stars Converted me to Medieval Romance 30 April 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I've never been a fan of medieval romance - too much of it jars and is full of dodgy ye-olde-medieval-speke. How pleasantly surprised I was, therefore, to pick up The Sun and the Moon.

Along with its prequel, Silken Threads, the Sun and the Moon is sharp, well written and immensely likable. The couple simmer with tension and the action is fast-paced. A hugely enjoyable read and recommended.

I'm devouring all Patricia Ryan's books now!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a bargain. 15 Aug 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading Silken Threads, I just had to get the sequal. I have rated this a full 5* due to the fact that it didn't drag at all unlike Silken Threads which I reviewed not long ago. This one was totally consistent all the way through and shame on me, I read it to the end in one sitting getting to bed about 3am. Totally worth feeling knackered for though so for the bargain price I paid for it I would definitely reccommend this to anyone who wants to know what happens to Hugh, the guy who said he would never fall in love and marry. Foolish man!!! This story was more juicy than the first, a bit more drama, something to get you're teeth into. The love scenes were a bit more saucy to but with romance at the forefront rather than raw lust. I like both but this one pulled at the heart strings more if you know what I mean.

Think I will be looking at more from this author from now on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the first in the series 17 Aug 2011
By Sarah
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is the second in the Wexford Series (although the book stands alone and can be read without having read the first one). After having read the first book of the series, "Silken Threads", I had to buy this book. And I liked it even better than the first one!

This books is the story of Hugh of Wexford and Philippa of Paris who both appeared in the first book. After having retired from fighting as a mercenary, Hugh is now working as a spy. For his newest assignement, he has to enlist the help of Phillipa of Paris, a free-minded scholar who has had little contact with the real world. Neither one is very happy with the pairing yet sparks quickly fly between them.

I liked this book better than the first one because it is quicker-paced and has more action yet there is a well developed love story in there. A very enjoyable read and now one of my favourite historical romances.
