Excellent debut; I could not recommend it more. It's chock full of crunching riffs, pop vocals and blistering solos. Anybody who enjoys having fun with their metal will love this album.

The next big thing 29 Jan. 2014

I love this band. I didn't know how I felt about Davey's voice when I first heard it, but the band has truly grown on me and quickly became one of my favorite bands. I would definitely recommend this album to metalcore fans looking for something new. Check out Savages as well, it's a killer album.
Modern glam metal form the UK taking you from metal-core to glam-core! 15 Mar. 2011
By Nikiforos V. Skoumas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
"The summoning" is the brand new debut album by British modern glam metal band "Glamour of the Kill". As their title suggest the band leans towards the glamorous side of heavy metal referencing directly the hair/glam/sleaze metal icons of the 80s. The also go a step forward, adding modern elements to their sound, clearly influenced by bands like "Bullet for my valentine" and "Black veil brides".

Essentially their song-writing is built on old school melodies and riffs, modern sounding rhythm parts to once again conclude on classic sounding choruses. The vocals switch from brutal to cleanly melodic and vice versa. One has to hand it to the guys, they have the instrumental technique to come up with plenty guitar melodies and riffs as well as going through a multitude of rhythm patterns.

The band have openly discussed that the aimed at every song on the album having the quality of a potential single release. And I have to agree that they managed to come fairly close to their goal with "The summoning" as beyond favourites, one has to acknowledge that all 12 songs are on the same artistic level delivering exactly what was promised: glamorous modern metal that lacks nowhere in comparison to the works of leading bands of the genre.
