5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth The Wait! 8 April 2004
Maurice Gunter is one of three Wrenn collectors who purchased G & R Wrenn Ltd in November 2001. This included all surviving paperwork which formed the research archive for this book which deals with the years of locomotive and rolling stock production from 1966 to the present day.
There is a brief history of the company from establishment in 1950 through to the present day. This includes the links with Trix, the take-over by Lines Bros Ltd and the re-emergence of the family-owned company with Wrenn Railways as the marketing brand. The history continues through the Dapol Ltd ownership to the present owners.
Each chapter details the locomotives and rolling stock introduced chronological order. Tables give production figures and approximate values of Mint Boxed examples.
There are hundreds of photographs, many in colour, showing the products and variations in the boxes in which they were housed. Also included are company photographs of the locos and rolling stock.
This book is essential reading for all collectors of the locos and rolling stock made by G & R Wrenn Ltd and highly recommended reading for everyone interested in the history of model railway production in Great Britain.
