Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, four names synonymous with one of the worlds all time greatest rock bands, Queen. Formed in London in 1971 Queen enjoyed relative success in their early years in the UK with their first two albums Queen (1973) and Queen II (1974). But it wasn t until the release of Sheer Heart Attack in 1974 and A Night at the Opera (Featuring Bohemian Rhapsody) in 1975 that the band went on to be a truly global success. By the late 1970 s Queen had gone on to become one of the world s greatest rock bands with such anthems as We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. By the early 1980 s their success continued and in 1985 their appearance at Live Aid sealed their reputation and was generally regarded as one of the greatest all time performances in rock history. During their illustrious career Queen released 15 studio albums in total and has sold over 150 million albums worldwide, with some estimates in excess of 300 million, making them one of the world's best selling bands of all time. They were truly a musical phenomenon that has never been surpassed. This is the story of the rise of one of the greatest and iconic rock bands in the world from the very beginning through to the sad demise of Freddie Mercury in 1991. Through classic archive footage of some of their greatest hits and interviews with Brian May and the likes of Paul Gambaccini their incredible and unique story is told. This is the definitive story of Queen!

An absolutely dreadful DVD, interviews with people I have never heard of - and for a reason. Among them one with an awful lisp.
Less than 30 seconds talking by Freddie or the other Queen members.
A very cheap and quick way to make some money.

It is not nice being so negative, but Queen and Freddie deserve better coverage than this.

Great footage of Queen and Freddie (what isn't?), Mick Rock is great and you can tell he loved freddie, Paul gambaccini is ok, don't think he realises what a unique gift freddie and queen was, otherwise just the basic queen story. A must read is Freddie Mercury by Lesley Ann-Jones and also, LOVE YOU BRIAN AND ROGER AND DEACON (I love you Deacon and even though I am Freddie's No. 1 fan I see what a superb gift you are and sometimes underrated - the true fans know what brilliance you had AND have, my favourite song forever is 'Spread your Wings!!'
