I bought this present for a twelve year old. It went down particularly well. Of especial interest was the number of ancillary documents contained in pockets throughout the book.

At my wife's school it wasn't just the kids who were gripped by the stories and mementos of the personalities of the pioneers of flight - it was the parents too. Absorbing.

Having a passing interest in aviation I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend and am absolutely delighted with it. The detail on the individuals who pioneered flight is really great and the fantastic photographs and copies of old documents make this a really well presented book. My children who have previously shown little interest in aeroplanes love the pull outs and have spent hours reading the book. Excellent.
