It has the musically "interesting" to the fantastic. For example, Conny Froboes' "Zwei Kleine Italiener" sounds like something Perry Como might have done during one of his christmas shows, whilst the excellent but haunting "Nocturne" by Secret Garden, Norway's 1995 winner, sounds a little out of place in Eurovision. Nethertheless both deserved inclusion in this compliation as examples of Eurovision at its best. What I really applaud the makers of this compilation for was the inclusion of The Shadows' "Let Me Be The One", probably one of the best songs never to win Eurovision and very difficult to find.
If you are interested in the Eurovision Song Contest, then I recommend that you buy this compilation.
However this one takes abroad sweep at Eurovision (although decidedly northern European in focus), and really shows some of the best music. this include the cracking "Better the devil you know" by Sonia in 1993 (incidentally my first real contest).
There are, of course, other gems, such as Bucks Fizz. But what truly makes this compilation stand out are the VERY rare ENGLISH LANGUAGE recordings of Diggy-Loo Diggy Ley by the Herreys (first for Sweden in 1984), and the ENGLISH version of "La det Swinge" by Bobbysocks (first for Norway in 1985). Worth the money for these two tracks alone.
Buy it and enjoy it. I certainly have!!!
Includes some of the cheesiest tunes from across Europe. My current favourite being "Eres tu" by Mocedades, a song I had never heard until playing this CD.
Enjoy!!
