If you are looking for a rather dry but factually correct retelling of the key figures in the unfolding story that is the discovery and shaping of electricity then I would suggest that this book will give you some of what you are looking for.
However, the author appears to be more interested in telling the reader about his own knowledge of theology and the theological credentials of the individuals featured in the book rather than explaining to the reader the discoveries and theories they have contributed to our understanding. I was left with the impression that, to the author, religion was more important to him than the science but I did learn that some of the great minds of history were diverted towards a succession of fruitless theological endeavours. What could we have achieved by now if religion had stood aside?
Puzzling for a book on science.
