Product Description

From the Publisher

The Wonderhorse publishing company was founded in 2010 to provide an outlet for the works of artist Francis O'Neill. His first title, The Stick Man's Guide to Life and Art (self published with another firm), had sold more than 1,000 copies including 500 at only six retailers. With more titles waiting to be published but unable to find an agent, publisher or distributor willing to promote them, O'Neill decided to establish his own publishing house and The Wonderhorse was born.

From the Author

What kind of arrogant twit would think they were in a position to write a Guide to Love? Well, that would be me, Francis O'Neill, but when writing the book that question did not cross my mind, as it was never intended to be an instruction manual for a would-be Casanova.
I wrote the book as a gift for a close friend of mine on the occasion of her 20th birthday when, after a number of telephone conversations in which she would ask me for my perspective on her boyfriend troubles, it was laughingly agreed that she could do with her own Stick Man guide book. This rapidly became The Stick Man's Guide to Love, as in answer to her questions the Stick Man came up with a series of observations on the nature and foundations of a loving relationship. These observations are derived from the wisdom and experience of many more people than myself and one Stick Man, and that being so, the book is imbued with a power that belies its modest size. I have known The Stick Man's Guide to Love to make readers both laugh and cry.

I discovered this book in an Oxford book shop tucked away on the counter and it was a real find. Initally it appears simple and straightforward with very engaging line pictures of stick men. As I read it I found it to be both funny and insightful. I keep buying myself a copy only to find I end up giving it away to friends as a gift. This really is lovely and a buy you won't regret (but a purchase you may find you make more than once if you are anything like me!)

If you're in search of light-hearted truth about love then this little guidebook is the one for you. Of my own experience, I can tell you that rather than sitting and weeping about lost love I was sitting and laughing about it all after I read it. It's a little gem amongst the rubbish out there.

So, who gave this guy all the secrets? I'm guessing they're secrets because no one else seems to know all of this. Mr O'Neill must be a genius.
This book is a must have - to sit and read cover to cover when love has you muddled, or to just dip in to every now and then when you need to smile.
Better than a chunky self-help book, more helpful and less fattening than a box of chocolates when you're feeling low...in short - this should be on everyones shelf.

Some pertinent words of wisdom from Francis O'Neill here, I wish this "Guide to Love" had been part of the national curriculum twenty five years ago: if everyone read this book, the world would be a better place! Lots of great ideas and heartwaming sentiment. Genius.
