This un-put-downable, pacy, racy novel is just the thing for all UFO freaks and junior conspiracy theorists. Berry and Ell are both on the run, but for very different reasons. They start out as confused and lonely young teens and end up entangled with the FBI and fearing for their lives, embroiled in a mystery that's out of this world. Both characters are slightly kooky, quirky kids who are not like "ordinary" teenagers, and yet the reader warms to and empathises with them both in equal measure. A breath-taking ride for girl and boy readers alike. Buy it now!

Fourteen-year-old Berry is handed a package by an old man she has never met. A man who mysteriously snatches her from under a bus when she should have been killed. A terrifying adventure begins which takes her all the way to the United States in fear of her life. A chance-met acquaintance, Ell, keeps her company. But they cannot always agree about the mystery package. Should Berry open it and allow the object's mysterious powers to help them, or is it safer left securely wrapped?
We enjoyed The Dreamwalker's Child and the Web of Fire and found the Starlight Conspiracy even better. The characters are unusual and memorable and the action is gripping. This story would appeal to girls and boys and is for slightly older readers than Steve Voake's previous books. Highly recommended.

I would never have purchased this book had I not been to Midsomer Norton in Somerset and googled information about the place. Thus I discovered that there was an up and coming writer, who was born there, called Steve Voake. Reviews of his books were very complementary so I became intrigued and had a sort of connection, albeit a tenuous one, and sent for a copy of The Dreamwalker's Child and The Starlight Conspiracy. The books are written for the young teenage market but I enjoyed reading them at age 59 and would recommend them to people who enjoyed reading Phillip Pullman or J.K. Rowling books.The stories Voake writes are carefully constructed and fast paced. He has a way of making you think about life that reminds me of the work of C.S.Lewis.
