Book Description

Space Opera meets Horse Opera in this fast-paced adventure story featuring the Space Command Intelligence undercover team headed by Trader Vyx. The team, introduced in Book 4 of the A Galaxy Unknown series, and with small roles in subsequent books, is now featured in their own book as this AGU:SCI series kicks off. This story is a mix of low-tech and high-tech as shootouts in saloons and city streets vie with spaceship chases and space battles to dominate the pages of this book. Vyx and the team are on Bledalto, a planet in Region Three, investigating slavery issues, when they become embroiled in a budding war between rival criminal organizations involved in currency counterfeiting and drug distribution.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not up to the level of his previous books 22 Jan. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Entertaining in the way that all DePrima's books have been, but short and somewhat insubstantial in the plot - this is really only half a book, and presumably the rest will come later.

The editing needs some improvement: the author and editor need to learn the difference between "it's" and "its", and the use of possessive apostrophes. And the page layout (on the Kindle edition at any rate) makes no distinction between paragraphs and section breaks, which makes for awkward reading in places.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too short 24 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This felt like it was an unused sub plot from one of the other AGU books. It didn't add anything to the overall story, and it seemed to end rather abruptly.

It only took me 2 hours to read from start to finish.

3.0 out of 5 stars Went nowhere quickly 23 Mar. 2014

Enjoyable read as always from DePrima but felt like the first half of a novel. I will get the second half if it is writtne but don't see this story line going anywhere in the long. Felt like a tester.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short story 11 Jan. 2014

It was just beginning to be interesting when it ended. If it is only half a book then it should be half the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action packed! 10 Jan. 2014

Good read. It was a little short or maybe I just read it faster then TJD's other books in the Series. For the length it had a very packed plot, certainly went a mile a minute, no filler at all, filled Vyx's character out a little more. Set plot lines for follow up book. Enjoyed it ! Even if the ending came too quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy the damn thing. 10 Jan. 2014

Got this yesterday, received it very fast. Only a day. I hate myself, but I finished it with six hours. It was so good I could not put it down. I advise you read the galaxy unknown series first, otherwise you are in for some big spoilers. Just do yourself a favor and read all of these books. This is the first of a new series Deprima appears to be starting. One that focuses on a small group of intel officers. You see them in galaxy unknown, but it just never was quite enough. A chapter here and there. But you loved them and enjoyed reading on their exploits. When I got the news letter I immediately went on amazon and bout the paper back book, since supposedly the kindle won't be available till the 14th. I'll even buy it on kindle too so I can read it anywhere. Just buy this, and enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story to setup a new story line. 16 Jan. 2014

This is short bot welll written. I enjoyed t and it seems to be setting up a new/old set of characters for adventures in the AGU universe. Trader Vyx and company are on a new planet and are up to their old tricks. This book follows them as they take on their first smuggling job and dogde being killed by idiots. This is a good, short, setting up story, that is a good read.
