5.0 out of 5 stars Jolly good reading! 5 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have just finished reading just the first few chapters of The Splintered Circle and was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the writing and the description of the settings pulled me right into the story. I like this type of story where morals have value and the character of a region shines through clearly. I love traveling to visit parts of the world to meet different sorts of people and this story does just that - transports you in just a few sentences. Well done! I would guess that many people are going to love this story.

I find stories like this that have two or more character collections with a link (without giving anything away) very interesting.
I have read all Peter Robinson's books of which some have a similar theme.
I would recommend this book and would have paid for it had it not been free.

4.0 out of 5 stars something a bit different. 9 Aug 2012

I found this story a little difficult to follow at first as it switches between apparently unconnected characters. However, the writing style flowed so making it easy to follow and it eventually all came together with a novel twist at the end. Well worth the read.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing 8 Jan 2013

It started ok, let's face it, it was free, and I didn't expect a literary masterpiece. I had no problem with the two casts of characters....pretty obvious they would join up at some point though. Unfortunately it seemed to lose it's way, I found the use of videos from beyond the grave a bit of a lazy way to impart a lot of information to the lead character and I know I'm no literary expert, but I didn't follow the ending...who was she???

Found this story frustrating the theme was very unclear at times. Quite frankly it was very disappointing and did not finish well. All a bit to muddled.
