I have labelled this as a creme de la creme of hadith collection, and it is. There is another more collection of 50 hadith by Imam Ibn Rajab Hanbali (Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom)which is more elaborate in commentary, but I would also class it as a creme de la creme collection. For a novice (as myself) who is not a scholar, and seeks only to understand and be inspired by reading, these are great collections.
This collection of ahadith is unique in the sense that each hadith also includes commentary from sages, saints (wali of Allah). The selection of hadith is categorized under various subjects. It is an outstanding book. Absolutely engrossing, and difficult to put it down.
Following intensive research, the purchase of this book has been a part of the process of building a library of Islamic literature, that relates particularly to seeking the path of excellence in spirituality, purification of the heart, ascetism, and an appreciation and understanding of the experiences of those who have followed this very path previously. The goal, God willing, in turn is to be inspired and motivated to seek success in a journey of personal development. Hence, this book is a piece of the puzzle of the big picture. I have been very pleased with this book.
