Wilber connects notions of paramount significance, borrowing from philosophy and psychology the most, to synthesise a comprehensive analysis of the mind and the way we perceive reality. This book is good for those interested in philosophy OR psychology or those who would like to be challenged to view the way they interpret the world from a new standpoint. Wilber makes difficult concepts accessible, especially through the use of diagrams and by restating his point in different ways. This renders the text a pleasure to read despite its relative intensity. Some people cannot accept that he uses pictures to explain difficult or unusual ideas, but I think this is a definite bonus. Critics have mentioned to me that Wilber seems to be trying to make his viewpoints look too scientific and schematical, but I strongly disagree. I don't think there's anything wrong with symbolic imagery as an aid to explaining anything. This is very much a book worth reading and I hope to see Wilber grow in popularity and fame, because he has a lot to teach us.

Ken Wilber offers a unique way of looking at reality. Whether or not one agrees with his ideas, the book represents a truly different view of existence which differs dramatically from that of most people. The author shows how the electromagnetic spectrum existed all along, but that we humans only recently understood the nature of this energy. He posits a similar spectrum - albeit for consciousness - that we only now are beginning to comprehend.

Well worth reading - it will challenge your view of the world, especially if you have been raised in a dualistic world.

Challenges the reader to accept a reality where most understadings of conciousness are subsets of a larger. Uses many separate analogies to
define a mold for a larger concept. Excellent in
method, content, and spirit. A must read..
