4.0 out of 5 stars spanish armada 15 May 2009
This is an excellent book on the Spanish Armada which brings many new facts to uur attention as a result of very diligent research by the authors.
Half the book iis devoted to matter leading to the Armada setting sail in 1588 but only a quarter of the book to the actual voyage of the armada.
The text is well written and illustrated with pictures, paintings and etchings.
I have 2 criticisms of the book a)the maps on the insides of the front and back covers are very poor and b)a list of ships in the English and Spanish fleets are given (pages 62-64)but no listing as to what happened to each ship is recorded.
