This book is bold, brave and not for the fainthearted! It is so different to any other book, and brilliant in its ability to literally grab you and force you to look at yourself and your life in a way that you may never have done before. It forces you to clear out the closets, dig deep into the hidden parts of your life, and really review who you are and who you want to be.
It is full of magic, both ancient and modern. It is a book to be read, reread, and then read again. You will want to go back and work through the steps, the magic in its pages is real. The steps work. I have seen it and experienced it for myself.
All I will say, is that if you are going to follow the processes and the rituals and the rites, make sure that you are clear and specific about what you wish for, very clear and very specific because the chances are you will get it. And often more than you bargained for. A masterpiece. I love it and so will you.

Love this book. If you feel life is getting on top of you, you need help with decisions, feel let down, hold grudges and want to get your feelings and thoughts back on track this is the book for you. I have felt like a different person since working my way through The Source. Each chapter is short and easy to read and follow. Nothing sinister is involved and you start to feel loved and wanting to love life again. I can't recommend Ursula James highly enough. If you are undecided if to buy this book, take a leap of faith and do it, you won't regret it!

An excellent manual which connects! In "demonising" so much of pagan understanding,we lost many connections with older truths. Well worth reading for the encouragement to follow your own path.

The Source is a fantastic book that combines the mysteries of magic, witchcraft, and the moon with practical self-help tips. The author Ursula James shares with the reader her own journey to find herself and fix the problems that have kept her from achieving her full potential. With the help of a long-departed soul, a witch called Mother Shipton, Ursula begins a journey to help her face, and ultimately overcome the challenges in her life. From dealing with jealousy and resentment to arrogance and greed she tackles each negative emotion with the help of Mother Shipton, whose wisdom is shared through a trance. Each negative emotion is an obstacle in achieving life's goals and happiness, and each must be dealt with through a series of exercises.

Each chapter includes a ritual, rite or a trance to be done during a specific phase of the moon. Rituals mark the start of the process, Rites are actions which manifest the changes, and Trances connect us with the Source in order to gain a clearer perspective on life. The exercises can be simple or challenging (depending on what problems you want to tackle) but are clearly explained and easy to follow. The author offers examples from her own life in dealing with and overcoming her struggles, which help illustrate the steps you need to take.

Overall this book is a joy to read! It reads like a magical novel, but one which can actually help you change your life. The exercises are interesting and fun to do and everyone enjoys a good challenge. You'll be surprised how much you can learn about yourself and what truths these exercises will uncover! Thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Format: Paperback
l got this book not knowing what l was looking for, but searching for something. l've done The Secret, The Power and The Magic, all good in their own way, but they didn't altogether resonate with me. l moved to North Yorkshire from the North East last year making huge life, work and personal changes. l felt that l came here for a reason, but not what it was. After a family tragedy in December (my mother took her own life) l felt that l'd lost my way and needed to find my path again, but l had no idea how, or where to look. This book is most definitely it. l have so many coloured sticky markers on the bits that resonate with me, it looks like a Buddhist temple festooned with prayer flags. At some points l wept, at others, l felt "l could have written this", it felt so personal to me. And l feel more than a degree of synchronicity that l moved here on an instinct, actually very close to Knaresborough where Mother Shipton's cave is. Perhaps my instincts were guiding me. They're usually pretty good. l can't wait for the new moon so l can start the exercises in earnest. Til then l will continue reading, re-reading, making notes and absorbing. This is genuinely the most amazing book l've ever read, not just of it's kind, but ever. l'd recommend it to anyone who has lost their way, their spark, or needs to heal their spirit.

I've been reading and re-reading The Source for about three months now and thoroughly enjoying it. A friend bought it for me and I promptly bought it for another friend. We're working through it together - a modern day coven of sorts using Skype to do the meditations. Until reading the book, I'd pretty much been oblivious to the phases of the moon, and the subtle influence it exerts on me. There's something surprisingly reassuring about undertaking rites and rituals to coincide with the waxing, waning, full or dark moon. The book has allowed me to take stock of my life, confront the things that were holding me back and be less fearful about the future. And strange as it may sound, I have found some magic.
