Product Description

Product Description

Echoes of an ancient murder ripple down the millennia to disrupt the lives of a motley group of people who discover disquieting connections to the past.
Each of them hide a secret, but are occult forces really at work, or is it human treachery that threatens them - and which will prove worse?
To solve the mystery, they must accept a quest not to find an ancient artifact, but to lose one, with danger following close behind as they race to discover the terrifying secret of a hidden tomb deep in the Theban hills of Egypt.
Drawn ever deeper into a tragedy that took place over three thousand years ago, survival hangs in the balance as they seek the true meaning of the Soul Scarab.

This was a great read. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I disagree with the last review completely. There were lots of suprises along the way and is brilliantly written. Sadly cant find more books from this author but i hope there are many more to come.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 4 July 2012

I was very disappointed with this book. While it started off promisingly and contained some interesting ideas, the writer failed to actually really take them anywhere or explore them in-depth, and the writing quality is quite poor. The characters are shallow and predictable, and the plot is no better - it is almost too easy to guess what is going to happen next, and too many points are left unexplained.

If you're on an aeroplane or in a similar situation and need something mindless to pass the time, this book could work for you. Even then and otherwise, there are plenty of better books to occupy your time. Definitely not worth a read.

3.0 out of 5 stars An OK Read 21 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I downloaded this because other reviews were full of praise and at the time it was free. I would not rate this as a page turner. The story is a clever concept but unfortunately in my opinion the writing style somewhat let it down. I think the writing could be a lot crisper and less verbose and maybe this would have meant that my attention would not have wandered quite as it did. There were no real suprises as I had worked out where the story was heading almost from the beginning. There were also some irritating issues either with proofing or the way the original text was converted to kindle format. I am not sure which. It felt as though the proofing had been left to spell check rather than done properly. Maybe people think that this is picky but it does interupt the flow of the text whilst one figures out what was really meant.

OK but I am glad I did not pay for it!
