I bought this book as my friend said he had a book written about him... I thought he was kidding but he clearly wasn't. I am part way through the book and already it is a real eye opener to realise the life that my friend has lead. It is an interesting experience to read a book and the subject to be known to me. Makes it a whole different experience.

There are tribes in the Amazon jungle completely hostile to outsiders. "The Sophisticated Savage" tells the story of one woman who found love with a man whose heritage draws its lines back to one of these hostile, violent tribes. Investigating out of curiosity about her lover's family, Carla Seidl presents fascinating insights about the simplicity of life and happiness. "The Sophisticated Savage" is an intriguing read, highly recommended.
