About the Author
Emilio Salgari is an Italian writer of adventure and science fiction for young-at-heart readers of all ages. His books are regarded as classics and are still in print many years after their initial publication. They have been translated in several languages and are especially popular in Italy and the Spanish speaking world. A prolific writer, Salgari authored 80 novels and over 150 short stories. This is the first publication of The Son of the Red Corsair in English.

Not What I'd Hoped For

I bought this based on the reviews of this and Salgari's other works here on Amazon. However, this edition is a mediocre translation, with proofreading errors and anachronisms that grate. Also, perhaps the original is better, but I didn't find the story or the characterizations very interesting.
