Format: Paperback
This book does not give of itself easily, you have to work to get what you want from it; however the author eases the process by providing an exceptionally detailed contents section which encourages and facilitates searches for specific areas of study. The book's subject matter is dealt with in a broad, yet succinct manner addressing (often within a context of ethnic and cultural diversity) historical and generational perspectives, economic and gender-based factors and archetypal and developmental issues as well as a brief though comprehensive evaluative overview of research methodologies. The glossary offers informative interpretations of an interesting range of terminologies and concepts and completes a valuable resource in the increasingly discrete field of childhood sociology.

Required for Class, but would recommend to anybody interested in the topic 14 Feb. 2014
By Aubree W. - Published on Amazon.com

Not quite a "read on the beach book", but a very easy read for a class-required text. William Corsaro is the leading authority on the sociology of childhood, making this book the foundational text in the field. I'd love a more timeless cover... but the content more than makes up for it. Recommend.

Good (: 21 April 2014

The book did have a good amount of highlighting, but it was very cheap. I just used different colors to know what I highlighted, but overall it's pretty good.

Got this for school. Good price. Way better than what they charge you at the school's bookstores. Recommend getting school books from amazon.
