Great general guide, clear illustrations but finer construction detail left to you. However, identical to 'The Go-Kart Manual', so don't buy both!

Somewhat disapointed

I was disappointed with this book. To put things in perspective, I am a technician and my husband is a mechanical engineer. We bought this book for our son because he wanted to build a pedal cart and figured we would save ourselves some trouble if the plans were already done. We received the book and found the pictures and the models very well done. But then when we got into the nitty gritty of building it that's when things went downhill. The dimensions are not all there. Wood pieces are not identified. Hole diameters are not identified and you cannot extrapolate on the drawing because of the way they are made.
If you simply want nice models and great pictures this is a good book. If you're expecting proper building plans, you better look for another book.
