Tough and tender’
Nelson de Mille

Product Description

A superb winter/Christmas warming read for the Horse Whisperer market.

High in the wastes of northern Canada, a falcon is blown off course by a storm, eventually coming to rest in a sparsely populated region. Her only instinct is to hunt and find a mate; but for the humans who are drawn into her story, she will be a catalyst of spectacular change.

A novel of healing, passion, heartbreak and the possiblity of redemption through the unlikeliest of channels, with magical snowy settings, this is commercial fiction at its best.

Plots Aplenty 19 Feb 2003
By Hugo
Format:Paperback
This novel, in its opening pages, shows an author with considerable skill. His discriptive ability, his love for nature, compassion for people, and inventiveness are all there. but the book does not live up to its initial promise.

Its deficincy is found in the way the various plot lines are combined. First, there is the story of the protagonist's attempt to overcome past problems and start life again. Next, there is the story of the woman's loneliness, and her relationship with her son. Third, there is the story of the falcon. Here and there, one could find gentle moments, insights, and understanding, but in general, with one exception, the interweaving of the plot lines produced contrived incidents, characters who seemed unreal, and forced dialogue, tedious reading indeed.

The exception is the story of the man and the falcon, a story to be treasured.

a captivating read 28 April 2003
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I BOUGHT THE SNOW FALCON BACK IN 1999 MAINLY BECAUSE THE COVER CAUGHT MY EYE AND THE SYNOPSIS CAUGHT MY IMAGINATION. iT HAS BEEN IN THE BOOKCASE UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN I FINALY GOT ROUND TO READING IT. HAVING READ THIS BOOK I NOW WONDER WHY I HAVE WAITED SO LONG. THIS BOOK IS A SIMPLE TALE, TOTALLY CAPTIVATING. WHEN THE SNOW FALCON FLIES YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOU ARE WITH HER, YOU CAN SEE THE FLIGHT IN YOUR MIND AND PICTURE THE SURROUNDINGS ON THE MOUNTAINS. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCALS AND HOW THEIR LIVES INTERTWINE IS ABSORBING. A LOVELY BOOK AND I HOPE THE AUTHOR TREATS US TO MANY MORE.

I loved it! 11 Dec 1999

Format:Paperback
I must admit that I was drawn to buy this book just by the billboards on the underground. I didn't expect too much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has so much to offer, and I haven't cried reading a book for a very long time until now. It is such a beautiful and enchanting story. I recommend it to anybody.
