Product Description

A funny tale of kindness and friendship, with a superb rhyming refrain for children to join in with, from the creators of The Gruffalo.

George wished he wasn't the scruffiest giant in town. So when he sees a new shop selling giant-sized clothes, he decides it's time for a new look: smart trousers, smart shirt, stripy tie, shiny shoes.

Now he's the smartest giant in town....until he bumps into some animals who desperately need his help - and his clothes!

Fantastic 8 Dec 2004
Format:Paperback
My son (3) and I really enjoy all the books written by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, but this one is our favourite (well actually joint favourite with the Gruffalo and Room on the Broom).

As usual there is a fantastic rhythm to the story - it is a positive joy to read the book aload.

The illustrations are particularly good (and adult readers will enjoy the jokes included in the background).

My two year old son adores this. It's an absolute favourite, along with Bear Hunt, A Squash and a Squeeze and the 'Snore' book! It's a wonderfully rhythmical story and if you don't mind doing silly voices and making up tunes it's perfect for reading at bedtime. As with all the above mentioned books, I often catch him reciting passages to himself..., "My tie is a scarf for a cold giraffe" etc. We have a wonderful children's bookshop near us and they recommended this book. At first I thought he might be too young, but they were absolutely right

Superb! 16 Aug 2004
Format:Paperback
I was worried that my two year old would not understand this book as some of the words were beyond his understanding. I worried for no reason. My son absolutely loves this book and requests it every night without fail! The storyline is simple, nice and encourages sharing and friendliness (all the things that you want your children to learn). The illustrations are excellent and have so much going on in the background as well.

This book is a must have for all parents that enjoy reading bedtime stories as much as their children enjoy listening to them.

I have read the book to my baby a few times. He is too young to be into books properly but nice to read anyway. Love reading the book and it flows well.
