this book, like most of babette cole books are very rythmic and fun to read. she describes slimy things in a most fun, gross and original way in which only miss. cole can do. and to compliment her tale perfectly are her equally fun, gross and original illustrations.

We all liked this book and ended up reciting large chunks to each other. It is silly, funny and very slimy!

Fun Book to Read to Kids or For Junior Age Kids to Read 1 Nov. 2003
By Edward J. Vasicek - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
We used to read this book to our children, and they always loved it. It was especially well received by our son, though our daughter enjoyed it too. The pictures and poetry are about all sorts of slimy things. One of my favorite pages shows a hardboiled egg flying out of a man's mouth, "People with no teeth, it is said, can't eat a slimy pickled egg."
This book is pure fun, perhaps bordering on the slightly gross (which is why boys especially will go for this one). Great to read aloud to children 5 and up, and can be read by a third grader, I would guess.

The Slimy Book 13 Jun. 2000

This book has fun, colorful characters that seem to be from the imagination of a child. The rhym and rythm of the book are fun.
The slimy book 3 Dec. 2012

This book goes hand and hand with "The Hairy Book". Not really an educational book but a fun book that my children and grandchildren have loved. It is a book that makes them laugh and is so much fun to watch their faces while I read the book to them.
