This sounded like a good movie - and I ignored the bad reviews as I tend to not often agree with other reviewers, but I should have listened and not bothered with this.
The story revolves around this family who think that they are upper class and have the most horrible characters ever. Some directors and actors can make a bad character into a likeable character because of a certain skill - skill of both the director and actor - as well as the writer of course. But this movie was lacking skill from all angles, the acting was unbelievable - the direction was terrible and the writing too was terrible. I don't know why so many reasonably high profile actors agreed to do this movie, there's not much to it - basically a very unlikeable woman complaining about her childhood and using it as an excuse to be a vile person for the rest of her life.
Throughout the movie, I was always awaiting the main point to appear, but it never did and it ended very abruptly and left me wondering what the hell the whole point was, There was supposed to be an element of romance and heartbreak, but it was not in the slightest bit believable, no chemistry or soul in any performance whatsoever.
Oh well, bad movie, what can I say?
