Format:Audio CD
Although the albums Rattlesnakes and Mainstream must be heard in their entirety, I think that The Singles includes all the highpoints from the other albums, only die-hard fans would be missing anything by not having the whole of the other albums.

this album was purchased as well as an album by lloyd cole (rattlesnakes)which i originally purchased on vinyl in the 1980's.
it has all the hits that i wanted to hear from past years
and is a very good cd.

Released to mark the occasion of Lloyd Cole and The Commotions reforming after 15 years for a UK tour, this collection of the singles gathers all the releases from his influential career as a solo artist and with the band. The album is packaged with a limited edition, bonus DVD featuring all of the promo videos from the singles, many of which will be available here for the first time.
Judging from another review in addition to the description, one gets a CD and DVD (granted, it is stated that it refers to that edition). Buy it and what you receive is a fantastic CD; sound is crystal clear and the songs, both with and without the commotions, have aged well. There is, however, no DVD included. By taking a further look, one can see that there is another version with the DVD but NOT this one. A close inspection thus shows that this is only a CD but one can easily get confused.
It is hard ducking too many stars since one can hardly fault the folks responsible for this otherwise fine product. One will do and thus this is a 4 star review.
