I love this expansion. It is set on my favourite island, Isla Paradiso. Lots of hidden islands ready to unlock and explore to claim as your own. Even more private islands, surrounded by the blue sea and the dive lots (SCUBA DIVING!).
Resorts... Are incredible. I love running my own, hiring my staff, designing their outfits, setting their working shifts, furnishing my resort, reading the reviews about it, upgrading the resort and trying hard to push the star rating from none to five.
The scuba diving is incredible, depending on your skill, you can explore different lots, and open more treasure. Find secret passages to others, search an underwater cave, collect fish and shells or embrace the attack of a cave moster or shark.
If you are lucky you can find and befriend a mermaid, increasing your bond with them enough to be invited to become a mermaid. They can go in water and on land, having the traditional tail in water and scaly legs on land. You can customise their scale colours. They are really cool, and can swim in the dive lots without having to depressurise before swimming again, and instantly master the diving skill.
The houseboats are great fun. Yes, they are a little small, but the enjoyment is worth it. Rather than swim, or take a water taxi to your destination across seas, why not boat there?
The Krakren is the giant squid sea monster that lives near Isla Paradiso. If you are boating on the miniature paddle boats, speed boats ect. And are passing through it's seas, the monster could catch your boat and eat it. With the limeted edition content, in the unlikey chance of it happening, you can use the survival pack, to survive the few days before you're rescued.
Anyway, I hope I have given you a good overview of Sims 3 Island Paradise, and if you haven't already, convinced you to play it.
