This is as usual a detailed walkthrough of everything you can do within the game. With lots of little things you could miss by playing by trial and error, this guide enriches the game and helps you to plan your next move more thoroughly if you are a Sim control freak like me!
Every profession is explained fully. There's information on what to do to help you progress and a detailed tour of the new town Twinbrook. All in all a must have for any serious Sim player.

This is the first Sims 3 game guide's I've ever brought and to be honest I wasn't overly impressed. Most of the book was telling you how to work the Sims and talking about the original careers, then when it did finally start talking about Sims 3 Ambitions the information and content wasn't particularly useful.
Another problem with this guide was the number of mistakes, for example the architectural award's table was actually talking about the PI awards. Also the whole guide had a rushed quality, including graining pictures and words being cut of from the page. In my opinion it was probably brought out quickly to make money.
I do however think the guide had some good points, it is particularly useful with the PI and ghost-hunter careers and it does go into detail about the new careers and aspects of the game, however not as much as I was hoping for and most of things mentioned were fairly obvious when you play the game!
Overall I wouldn't suggest buying this guide as it wasn't worth the money and didn't provide any helpful information which improved my game playing of the Sims 3.

I had got the Prima guide for The Sims 3, and so had high expectations from this one. I was not let down, as the guide was well written and extremely informative. Like the previous guide, it contained loads of information about the game, including detailed descriptions of new careers, skills etc, as well as the key parts of the original guide for people who do not own it. A great buy (assuming you have Sims 3 Ambitions, otherwise the pointfullness of the book rapidly decreases).

I really like the smaller size of this book compared with the massive size of the older book. Ringbound is a better idea aswell. Read more

New Style Book
I like the new style of this guide - it has the same information as the other books (Sims3 and World Adventures) - so if you like them then you will like this one. Read more

Almost all the game guides I have are from Prima Essential, everything is explained very well with the here and there tip or two. Read more

Slightly underwhelmed
The manual of The Sims 3 Ambitions is 188 pages long, of which 71 pages are either the Sims 3 primer or talk about the existing careers, which is much the same thing. Read more
