About the Developer: The Sims Studio
It's more than 20 years since Will Wright created SimCity and his development company Maxis. A lot has changed in that time, including the rise of The Sims as the studio's biggest game, but after being bought by EA elements of the team still work on the series and new titles such as Spore.

Product Description

Create Sims with unique personalities, fulfill their desires, and control their lives within a living neighborhood that you can customize, including designing the ultimate beach getaway. Unlock all-new Karma Powers and unleash them on your Sims: help your Sim get lucky with the power of "love connector ", bless them with the power of "age defier " or curse them with an "alien abduction. " Use these powers wisely, because they may have unexpected results! As you guide your Sims through life, you can complete challenges to unlock additional items, new buildings and landmarks. For the first time ever, share the fun with a friend in the co-op buddy mode or take on up to three friends in the Life Moments Game.

Fun:
I asked for Sims 3 earlier in the week to entertain me while I'm off sick from work. I've grown up with Sims, from PC, Playstation, DS, and now Wii, I've seen it in it's many guises...

After reading the previous reviews, I was a little concerned my money would be wasted, but thankfully it was not!

The Create-A-Sim feature is now as sophisticated as the PC version! Your little friends no longer look all jagged and pixel-ey! Admittedly, we're lacking HD qualitiy, but I hold my hands up, that's not something I really care about!

Once you get in there (and sorry to all the previous reviewers!), I didn't find the controls particularly difficult at all! And I've given up on Wii games for this reason in the past (damn you, Tomb Raider Anniversaries!!!!!). The controls actually felt quite intuitive... So, if you've had experience of using the nunchuck and remote together for platform games on the Wii, this game won't cause you too many problems!

I also want to point out for all you PC Sim-ers, that - sadly - you can no longer build your house from scratch! You have to earn extensions and upgrades... But don't worry, all that's set about the structure is the external walls... You can do whatever you like building-wise on the inside! EA have said doing this has allowed them to include more elaborate structures, like round roofs, and beams, but I can only quote them on that...

Finally, one last big change is the way you can interact with your Sim at work. You can now pick what chores they do in their working day... You can make yourself into the bosses lap-dog or the office clown! This is a definite step up from being forced to watch the fast-forwarding world go by while you wait, as per the previous games!

So, in conclusion, I really love this little game... It's great that EA have finally recognised that we don't all have super-computers that can comfortably run Sims 3! I'd recommend it to anyone!

Great! 22 Jan 2011

Fun:
I asked for this game because my PC didn't meet the system requirements. I, myself, didn't have any problems with the graphics or controls (no offence to other gamers), and found the entire game really fun. I found that at one point the game froze but that was only because the disk wasn't clean.
My only complaint is that when your sim gives birth you have to name the baby before you know the sex! I ended up only using "unisex" names like Ashley.
Overall this is a great game! I highly reccomend it!

Fun:
It annoys me when people moan about how the console versions of sims are bad. They may not be quite as good as the PC version, but a review should be about the game in question, not about how it measures up to other games.

This game is fun - there is no question about that. However, there are many annoying glitches and the game feels slightly unfinished. The graphics are good, but I feel they are too good for the Wii. Sometimes, I feel the Wii can't handle the game (judging by the racket!), so I feel the game could be improved with loading screens - like the Xbox and PS3 versions.

If you have a Wii, and you like Sims, you should buy this. The Sims isn't everyone's cup of tea, so if you normally play CoD and don't like Sims, don't expect to warm to it.
