Die Bart Die! 13 Mar 2000
By A Customer
This themed Simpsons video has a stronger common connection than some of the recent collections - all four episodes concern MURDER! The first half of the video is taken up by the two parts of 'Who Shot Mr Burns?' - the Simpsons' first publicity-spinning plot stunt. If you don't know who shot him, I won't tell you (but don't worry - he isn't killed). This story features lots of great freeze-frame moments. Also included are 'Cape Feare' and 'Black Widower'. 'Cape Feare' is (duhhh) a close parody of 'Cape Fear' with a paroled Sideshow Bob taking the Robert de Niro role and terrorising Bart Simpson. This episode has some fantastic dialogue (Chief Wiggum - "I'd like to help you ma'am, but, ha ha, I'm afraid there's no law against mailing threatening letters". Marge - "I'm pretty sure there is". Wiggum ... - "Well, shut my mouth! It's *also* illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling!"). And 'Black Widower' sees Sideshow Bob return to menace Bart once again, this time getting close to him by marrying his Aunt Selma. Get this video and you'll appreciate what an intelligent piece of television 'The Simpsons' is.

This video showcases what can be said as the best of "The series that offended a president".

'Who shot Mr. Burns?'[1995]

Arguably the best bit of this episode is when the elementary school strikes oil,[Old man Burns aint happy]in the process blasting a hole through the centre of the school. Then surprise, surprise Superintendent Chalmers pays the incompetent Skinner a visit, saying, as he emerges on to the roof "How come when I heard the words 'school' and 'exploded', I instantly thought of the word SKINNER! Burns taps the well, and in the process closes down Moe's and the old age home, gaining some enemies. After all this, he can't remember Homer's name, there is a great scene illustrating this, but I'm not going to spoil it. Burns then doubles the nuclear plant output by blocking out the sun, making the whole town his enemy including Weylan Smithers! He is then shot in the now eternal twilight, and it was.......

Who Shot Mr Burns Part II [1995]

Don't get on the edge of your seat, cos I'm not going to tell you!

Black Widower [1992]

Sideshow Bob gets out of prison to marry SELMA! With the intent to kill her on the honeymoon YES! But the alert Bart and the stupid Homer [unfortunately] manage to stop him.

Cape Feare [1993]

Sideshow Bob is free,[again] but this time with the intent of killing his nemesis,Bart. The family are re-located to the optimistically named town, Terror Lake. Buy the video to see how it turns out, a great episode all round.

Firstly we meet Homer returing from a bar when he encounters an alien. Of course, nobody believes him, except F.B.I. agents Mulder and Scully. Was this a hoax or reality. Then its one of my favourite episodes "Homer the Great" where we see Homer jelous of his friends, Lenny and Carl, as they are members of "The Stonecutters"- an anchient group of folk who have beer nights and pool nights and gambling nights etc. But just how determined is Homer just to get in. If thats not enough then what would you say to Springfields town founder, Jebidiah Springfield, being a fraud? Well wach this and you'll see Lisa's reactions. To rap it all of we catch Homer up to some dirty tricks as he accused of sexual horassment. Only a Scottish groundskepper can save him now.... and no scottish people are not like him!
