Simpsons Lite: thanks for the memories, but not for the substance 17 Jun 2007
By R Schmidt - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is an oversized book, allegedly for the tabletop or for mounting your favorite pictures on the wall. The 50 poster-pictures cover a variety of topics and characters, from spoofs on other movies/books (Forrest Gump, Star Wars, Lady and the Tramp), to collages of "action shots," particularly of Bart and Homer.

My favorites were three: an "Orion-esque" constellation of the Simpsons family eyes, Psychedelic Marge, and "Homer the Hutt."

For those who count these things, Homer is in his underwear on three posters, Bart is mooning on two, and there are two wedgies.

Usually there are few or no words, but there is Ralph Wiggum's pledge of allegiance:

"I fudge a legions,
To the flack,
Of the enlightened
Skates of a merry cup.
And two derrick public,
Four witches dance,
One Asian,
Underground,
In the visible,
With liver tea and
Just us for owl."

Two complaints. First, the large sprinkled doughnut appearing on both the front and back cover does not appear as a poster. Second, as a "poster book," I'd really have liked the book to be on better quality paper, and worthy of matting and framing. Perhaps "Simpsons art" is better located elsewhere. There are a bunch of pricey art celluloid (cel) pieces available. Perhaps this particular book should be renamed "Simpsons art for the unwashed masses."
