Amazon Review

Viewers who acknowledge The Simpsons as one of the best shows ever to hit television are doubtless already proud owners of The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family. But since the show is still in production, that guide is no longer complete. And can you really live a second longer without a full list of last season's blackboard inscriptions? Simpsons creator Matt Groening and editor Scott M. Gimple come to the rescue with The Simpsons Forever! A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family--Continued. It's a complete listing of all the episodes of the ninth and tenth seasons, including screen shots, dialogue highlights (Moe, packing for Hawaii: "Ukulele, pineapples, beach pistol, scandalously revealing thong...") and "Stuff You May Have Missed" such as the fact that the motto of In 'n' Out Ear Piercing is "If It Dangles, We'll Punch a Hole in It". There are also brief bios of guest characters (Señor Ding Dong hates Chevy vans) song lyrics (Marge and Homer's version of "Those Were the Days") and a fond-without-being-icky tribute to Troy McClure. The truly obsessed will welcome the lists: every couch gag of the past two seasons, which actors do which voices, and every single time Homer has said "D'Oh!" for the past two years. The Simpsons Forever does a terrific job of catching the humour and spirit of a truly great show. --Ali Davis, Amazon.com

the first simpsons episode guide tells you about the very first episode to the present. so far there have been a lot more new episodes so this book keeps it upto date. the new episodes are a bit confusing and you'll have to be brain to understand. this book tells you the funniest jokes , quotes , actions and stuff you may have missed. they tell you about the episode to. every few pages , there are a double page of " when homer says DOH " or " a tribute to troy mclure " on every page , it give bio on each and every character.

If you're a true Simpsons fan like me then you'll probably buy this book anyway, but it really isn't for hard-core fans. It seems to be aimed more at the average fan who may need help in specifying a P-code or an episode title where 'such and such a thing happened'. It includes a nice tribute to Troy McClure, voiced by the late Phil Hartman, but there is no direct tribute to Phil himself. Maybe that's a good choice, because it's really aimed at a younger generation, and though the Simpsons is a show which can appeal to all ages, maybe a tribute to Phil himself is a little beyond the scope of this book. A little swearing, but no smoking or pulling hair - fun for the whole family! For under a tenner, it's a really good buy.

Although the summaries are good and everything is not update, does just 2 seasons make this a worthy addition to your collection. Surely a changed first edition with these episodes added would be an improvement. It costs almost as much as the original with a fifth of the episodes. You will soon grow to know all the quotes and some really important things are missed out. New episodes are already out on Sky which is the only place people could watch these ones. D'oh! It also highlights that since the fifth series the simpsons have gone downhill at are not yet back to their best. Buy it if you must as it continues the good style of the original, but nothing new and certainly not enough.

Some people say this should have just been added to book one. But that would have been a waste of money for the peeps with book one. Also, about the other major complaint-so they should have ANOTHER book out already? I think a book every two seasons is just fine for me.

Well, this book has all the information you will need. All the couch gags, who does what voice, things that you could have missed, a tribute to Troy Mclure and all the great stuff that was in the first book.
