NPR's Next Week's Challenge
This brainteaser comes from Serhiy Grabarchuk, Peter Grabarchuk and Serhiy Grabarchuk Jr., a family of puzzle makers in Ukraine. A calculator displays a five-digit number. The first four digits are 8735. These digits form a logical sequence. What is the fifth number in the series?

Format: Paperback
Unlike many puzzle books out there, this one contains all original and never-before-seen puzzles only. A treat the most avid puzzle fans may expect from any book by the Grabarchuk family of puzzle designers.

108 entertaining puzzles with detailed solutions from a diverse range of disciplines: Visual problems, mind benders, coin/matchstick puzzles and word challenges. A significant number of puzzles also include unexpected tricks to be discovered.

Simply innovative, and not-so-simple indeed.

Great Puzzle Book 22 May 2008
By R. L. Kaplan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
These puzzles are highly original, and quite different from what you find in most puzzle books. I was impressed with the large variety of challenges presented. Why do word puzzles all day when you can cross train your brain with spatial, math, visual, and logical problems? This book has them all. The illustrations that accompany each puzzle are also very nice. Get your thinking caps on, though-these highly enjoyable puzzles are "Not-So-Simple"!

The puzzling equivalent of a "Fudgehammer", look so simple hit so hard 9 Jan. 2010
By Charles Ashbacher - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The title is the perfect description for the brain-cramping contents of this book. These puzzles are the intellectual equivalent of the beautiful flowers in the movie, "The Wizard of Oz." They look so sweet and innocent, yet they can have serious affects on your mental state. Solutions to all of the puzzles are included. As I read through them I solved approximately 10% immediately, another 10% after some serious thought and had no idea and would never have had the right idea on many of the others.
Which is the beauty and charm of the best puzzles; they look easy yet are not. Then, when you give up and read the solution, your first reaction is to slap yourself on the forehead. This is one of the more pleasant ways to generate a headache.
Not exatcly what I expected 17 Jan. 2009

I expected to learn how to solve riddles. This book does offer a lot of riddles. What makes it unique though is it's wide range of different type of mind bending puzzles. It is quite the challenge and worth the buy.

Kindle Fail 9 Feb. 2012
By holma - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I should have checked all the reviews. If I had read those from other people who had tried the kindle edition I would never have purchased it. The puzzles are not interactive so unless you are able to do them completely in your head you would have to draw them on paper. My feeling is that this is probably a very good book in paperback form but the kindle edition should never have been created at all. I ended up returning the book a few minutes after purchasing it.

Also, a suggestion for Amazon, it should be possible to filter reviews for the kindle edition only. The filter should default to the edition currently being viewed.
