Imagine, your a healthy young girl, struggling through difficult times and suddenly you're deaf. Now imagine you're in a darkened room that suddenly shakes with the force of an explosion. You listen for more bombs but you hear nothing, silence, complete silence. I feared for the life of the character as the story unfolded around her. I wanted to protect her and help her through the blitz. I ran through the pages as I became more and more immersed and felt unable to put the book down.

I bought "The Silent War" by Victor Pemberton for the only fact that it was set during the war and I glad that I did. Mr. Pemberton is a great writer, that is able to make the reader feel like they are truly in North London during the war. Overall, "The Silent War" is really great book that shouldn't be overlooked.

I had been looking for this book for years i had read it when i was younger and i loaned my copy to a friend and never got it back si i was chuffed to bits to find it here on amazon for a really low price it arrived really quickly and it was in great condition.
