Let's get one thing straight: THIS IS NOT NU-METAL! Disturbed do not have turn tables, and they dont rap. This is just pure heavy metal at its best. Disturbed bring something comepletely different to the music scene. David Dremain's vocals are brillaint. His voice is different to anything else out there and that's just one of the reasons why Disturbed are the best band in the world in my opinion. Tracks:
'Voices': Brilliant album opener that makes you want to head bang like youve never headbanged before. Great vocals and great riffs. What more do you want? 5/5
'The Game': First couple of listens and you think 'hmmm' but then it really grows on you and shows what an animal of a track this is. 5/5
'Stupify': One of Disturbed's best songs ever. Great riff and lyrics you can sing along to. David Dremain shows his vocal skills in this track really well. 5/5
'Down With The Sickness': This is the track that launched Disturbed into stardom. This is so heavy and makes you want to scream out. The chorus is mind blowing and this song has to be blasted out at full volume. 5/5
'Violence Fetish': In my opinion this is the best track of the album. Like 'Down With The Sickness', its very heavy and has to be put on full blast. Dremain really puts effort and emotion into the chorus, screaming it brilliantly. Not one of Disturbed's best known songs, but one of their best. 5/5
'Fear': A grower of a song. At first I didn't think much of it but then the more I played it the better it got. Give this track a chance before you judge it. 4/5
'Numb': At first I got this and 'Fear' mixed up, but since then its got its very own unique sound. 4/5
'Want': Great opening line in this song when Dremains screams out 'She Want me!' at the top of his lungs. This then goes into a great riff that will stay in your head for ages. 5/5
'Conflict': The album isn't slwong down at all. Another wonderful song with a great riff and great lyrics that will be sung along to in no time. 5/5
'Shout': The only 'meh' song on the album, and it wasn't even written by them! It's an ok cover but doesn't do too much for me.
'Droppin' Plates': An anger-fuelled song that really gets the blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing. You can hear the anger in every Disturbed song but this one espicially. Dremain really puts emotion in his words, and once again the riffs are brilliant.
'Meaning of Life': Very good track yet again and just shows how good this album is. 4/5
I didn't purchase this from Amazon so I dont hve the rest of the tracks but I'm sure they are just as brilliant as the rest of the album.
This is a perfect debut from Disturbed. Its mind blowingly heavy and there isn't a bad song on it. If you are new to Disturbed and want to purchase one of their albums, to be honest they are all brillaint, but their debut would be a good place to start. If you love heavy metal, then this is for you.
