This is an interesting, if not entirely successful attempt to marry the slasher genre with historical fact. It stars Gina Philips, of Jeepers Creepers fame.
An archeologist, a security guard and a gang of joyriders are trapped in an old London Plague hospital, where a terrible act from the past starts to repeat itself. The film has a few genuine jumpy moments, but the way the camera cuts from scene to scene a la Blair Witch can be very distracting at times. At other times the cinematography works to the films advantage. All the actors, especially Philips, give their all, and the historical back story is also interesting.
So to sum up, not a total success, but an interesting little film all the same. 3 out of 5

Me and my boyfriend bought this film to watch after watching the trailers of Pulse. It looked pretty good and had a unique plotline. In reality, it's pretty crappy. It's very low budget - I take Media & Film Studies at college and this film doesn't look much higher in quality. It's almost like a bunch of students were taking History, learning about the Plague and taking Media and thinking "We can make a film about this."

The characters were completely miscast - the pregnant, slutty "goth" girl in it was obviously only cast because she was the only one who would get naked. Her boyfriend Nick looks like he should be playing a Cockney gangster - and only that role. The antagonist, a Plague Doctor from the 17th century, is a really good villain though - a unique role, the way he's portrayed and only shown a few times is good. I just wish they could've done it so much better.

The plot is confusing at best, the way it is shot makes it no better trying to understand. The mixture of shots between different shots just mixes things up - obviously thought that would make a good effect, but it doesn't. Blair Witch inspired shots of a guy with a camera were totally ripped off and in now way near as effective. It takes a lot of things from different movies and crams them into a blender - Blair Witch with the handheld cam, Alien in the way the Plague Doctor is shot behind a guy before he dies, etc - creating a watered down, poorly taken replica of these films.

I wouldn't waste your money on this film - some shots are okay and even though some people are saying "it's worth a shot", there are far better films out there that are way more worth a shot.

This film is ok its cheap low budget and thats what you get... the plot is thin and i just took a chance on it and it didnt rock my world. The cover of the dvd is about the scariest thing and to be honest its instantly forgetable.
