This book has alot of really tasty, simple to prepare recipes. I'm a terrible cook and even I manage to put the dishes together. I bought the book in order to burn fat and get lean. I weighed 157 pounds and after two weeks I dropped 5 pounds. And thats without ever being hungry and without having to eat rabbit food all the time. It also gives a simple calculation at the beginning so you know exactly how many grams of fat, carbs and proteins you should consume each day, I found this really helpful.

Some great ideas.... Just wish some one would do a UK specific version of this kind of book, some ingredients different or hard to get..... Also have to convert the measurements in to metric.

This book will totally revolutionise your healthy eating and dispels the myth that eating a bodybuilding diet is boring and repetitive. There are tasty recipes for all times of the day and each meal has a detailed calorie and macro breakdown. I had been bored of eating cold brown rice or sweet potatoes for lunch but now with the addition of things like cous cous salad and ctranberry quinoa salad I look forward to lunch each day. Although designed with recipes for cutting and bulking this book would also be great for anybody wanting to follow a balanced, nutritious diet and most of the meals are easy to make and don't require trips to obscure shops to get hold of the ingredients. The only thing us Brits may have to do is google what some of the ingredients are since Mike is an American author (who knew cilantro is just coriander and flaxseeds are sold as linseeds in the UK!). The only slight criticism is that as a paperback the book doesn't stay open at the page which is handy when you are following a recipe but this is not the author's fault and can be remedied by weighing the book down. Buy this book and look forward to each and every meal!

All super easy to make, fresh healthy ingredients and it's made a huge difference to my gym progress already. Can't believe i've seen a change already. Bought this for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. He is a very pleased with it, which is a major compliment as he is very hard to please when it comes to advice on nutrition and meal suggestions due to his sheer knowledge on the subject and strict eating regime. I was concerned that he was getting into too much of a meal routine, choosing the same 4 or 5 "go to" meals each week and I wanted to inspire him with other meals. This book did exactly that and he is now trying different combinations and foods, all the while knowing that they work with his diet plan.
He also commented that he liked the fact that the book works for both people trying to lose fat and gain muscle and people who are trying to bulk up. He has a few friends who are trying to bulk up and has told them about the meal suggestions that would suit them.
Very pleased. A nice quality book.

I bought this book because my fiancé is always switching between bulking up or slimming down, depending on if he is training for an ultra marathon, or just building muscle. This book gives two types of recipes to help you with both bulking and slimming. I also find the slimming recipes great for me! The cranberry quinoa salad is a definite favourite! The reason I give the book four stars instead of five is that the recipes can sometimes be a bit unclear with measurements (ie "a scoop of protein powder") This caused a bit of confusion for us as to exactly how much to use as scoops will vary in size and it was for a muffin recipe, so with all baking, you need to be quite accurate. In saying that though, the author Michael was very helpful and very quick to respond when my fiancé contacted him for clarification. In all, we are happy and really enjoy trying the new recipes.

I was looking for that edge, in my training and diet and this is so far delivering!
Aussie chicken is amazing! Mixed berry muffins are too nice.
Monster kiwi shake i would say lower some if the ingredients or it ends up a lil thick.

Have spoke to Mike today regarding a few bits and as all the reviews say he does respond promptly!

His other book bigger leaner stronger is a great no BS, everything in one place book. If class myself as a seasoned gym-goer and its nice to see alot of the things i follow/believe being backed up by Mike. Trained chest today using a few of his tips and these really make a difference! I wouldn't say its going to blow your mind if you have trained a few years successfully but as a beginner it is invaluable-follow this guys advice and save the 3-5 years i spent figuring it out myself.

Having brought Mikes book "Bigger, Leaner, Stronger", I was a bit perplexed what to do nutrition-wise, which is discussed in the book. What pops up is this little treasure "The Shredded Chef".

A good selection of recipes for those who want to bulk and those who want the shred. Have already tried a few of them and found them not to be wanting in flavor - YUMM.

If, like me you are just starting on improving your body and not sure what to eat, this is the book for you. There is nothing complicated in the recipes although as has been mentioned in previous reviews, would be nice for metric measurements and some pictures as well.

A big thank you to Mike for this book.

Do yourself a favor and just get it - the little snacks you can take for your post-workout snack are great.
