Sheila Malory is puzzled and concerned when Mrs Rossiter - a friend of hers who lives in the local care home - disappears apparently without trace. Sheila has never liked Mrs Rossiter's daughter, Thelma, who is her own contemporary as she seems more interested in her mother's money than in her wellbeing. What has happened to Mrs Rossiter? This is a well written and intriguing mystery.
I've read a few other books in this interesting series by Hazel Holt and all are well written with interesting backgrounds. This one is no exception though some readers may find it a little lacking in action and violence. If you enjoy crime stories by the Golden Age writers such as Agatha Christie, Dorothy L Sayers and Anthony Berkeley you are likely to enjoy the Mrs Malory series.
