Format:Paperback
Any book written by this author is almost always excellent; He is a terrific author on his particular subect and this book is no exception.Although he covers a lot of different gunfighters and lawmen in this book and can only devote a few pages to each it will give the reader a good grounding into finding a character that is facinating enough to make one go deeper into study of their chosen subject. I chose John Wesley Hardin and It was areal toast burner; I could not put it down and I have recently recieved another book from the pen of this guy "Pat Garrett- The story of a Western Lawman" so if youre into Victorian western USA biographies this book is a great Start. A lot of Metzs books are printed by State Universites and even though you may choose a paperback it will be of beautiful quality. Metz books are cramed with victorian photographs of his subject

Having spent the vast majority of my life in the South West and the very city where Mr. Metz live I have had a chance to see first hand the fabrications that a formed about such me as Billy the Kid, John W. Harden, Wyatt Earp, and others. With this in mind it is nice to find a true to life and exqisitly written book about the lives thease men really lead. This book is a literary gold mine for all those interusted in the history of the American West.

This book was very enjoyable to read, full of entertaining short stories. Would definately reccomend to anyone with an interest in this field, also great value too.
